By coincidence I did exactly this 2 days ago, having ordered the Kindle version of a book by mistake when I wanted the hardback for a present. I agree that the return option was not visible in the order details but I did find the link that @CombatWombat quotes above and it worked fine for me. The refund was credited to my account within 24 hours.
Hi, I've tried every way to cancel an e-book wrongly ordered, I thought I'd managed to but have had no confirmation at all from Amazon since; so have my doubts.
There must be a way but how please as Amazon instructions do not make sense as no return options appears on the order as stated?
It's not on the order it's under the Actions [...] button on the Manage Your Content and Devices page:
To return an eligible Kindle book:
Go to Manage Your Content and Devices.
From the Your Content tab, select the Actions [...] button next to the title you want to return, and then select Return for Refund.
In the pop-up window, select Return for Refund.
and Amazon does not usually send a notice that you've returned or cancelled a digital purchase. The money was was immediately charged to your credit card and it will usually take 3-5 business days for a refund for that amount to show up on your bank statement
Return Kindle Books Go into "content and devices" which is in your account. Find the book Tick the left hand box and then the select box and then the options pop up. Select the RETURN option. DO NOT select any other option. The book will go away and you will get a refund. This will work for 14 days from ordering the book.
