I do not have a Kindle reader. I have just bought a Kindle ebook. I do not want to use Kindle Cloud and I cannot use Kindle for PC as I cannot get it to work (I asked Amazon Help, but they could not get it to work either). I want to read my Kindle on my PC and as I cannot get Kindle for PC to work, I will have to use a different reader installed on my PC. To do this I have to download the Kindle ebook onto my PC. How do I download the Kindle onto my computer?
Use the link to download from there as it is not in the Windows store.
However if you have a windows operating system S, then you can only download from the store and you need to permanently disable "S" as you can't go back to S. Microsoft call the S version security as it prevents dodgy downloads from anywhere but the Windows store.
Thanks. I have just spent over an hour on the phone with a very charming and helpful Amazon Help man. But even he could not cure the registration problem with Kindle for PC. He has referred the problem upwards to software, and he says he hopes to get back to me in the next three days. I am very grateful to him, we will see what happens.
The problem with my registration of Kindle for PC was that the programme insisted that I "enable cookies" or it refused to allow registration to proceed. I am a regular Amazon user and obviously have had cookies enabled for a very long time, but nothing anyone does can persuade Kindle for PC to allow the registration to proceed.
