The screening of the tennis is frustrating, lots of flickering and sometimes 4 x frames of picture. I joined amazon prime in September and thought perhaps the quality of the tennis screening was due to delay from China but the ATP tennis from Antwerp is the same. I am watching on a fairly new Panasonic TV. Am not particularly technical but I have looked at other customer comments and the problem seems to be widespread. Can’t it be corrected.....really disappointing
I'm sorry you're having issues watching Tennis on Prime. Let's try a few things!
First, make sure the Prime Video app and your Panasonic TV are fully updated.
Check your device bandwidth speeds. For the best live streaming experience, Prime Video recommends a minimum download speed of 1 Mbps for SD & 5 Mbps for HD. Prime Video will serve the highest quality streaming experience possible based on the bandwidth speed available. Once you've verified your bandwidth is good, try a restart of your modem and/or router.
Issues like you're describing could be related to motion settings on your TV. We recommend turning the Motion setting on your TV to Off. This setting might have a different name depending on your TV manufacturer. Some examples of the Motion setting include MotionSmoother, Auto Motion Plus, Tru Motion, MotionFlow, Cinemotion, and Motion Picture.
I just tuned in to Prime for live tennis, mainly to check the picture quality and, as for US Open, the pic was jerky. Not bothered about the Tennis, but in December you have live football and I want that to be good quality.
i tried the Prime app via the virgin V6 box first, that wasn’t good. I then tried the tv connecting via its own Prime app, and that was even worse.
Can you give any assurance that the pic quality for football coverage will be better?
i should add that the pic quality on my TV for Netflix, BBC iPlayer etc is always perfect. This is a unique to Amazon issue.
Trying to watch the tennis..... the picture quality is completely unacceptable. The bottom half of the picture is completely blurred and
I am so bitterly disappointed! Amazon, you’ve got to fix this problem!!! All the others are perfect... (Netflix, BBC, Now TV etc.). I bought my new smart tv only a few weeks ago and I have the fastest new fibre broadband. Was really looking forward to the tennis.
For the best live sports streaming experience, please make sure your device and the Prime Video app are fully updated. For video juddering/motion, we recommend turning the Motion setting on your TV to Off. This setting might have a different name depending on your TV manufacturer. Hi. Unfortunately nothing has made any difference. I have an LG tv bought brand new in August. I have spent a lot of time speaking to people at LG who say it must be an Amazon problem as it is specific to only your tennis channel. They have talked me through uninstalling the Amazon Prime app as well as playing around with the motion settings. Every other channel works FINE. The picture is beautiful! Tennis is my passion and I cannot express how bitterly disappointed I am. I cannot see the bottom half of the picture 90% of the time. PLEASE AMAZON FIX THIS PROBLEM!
Thank you for sharing the details from your contact with LG, and I'm sorry this troubleshooting hasn't resolved the issue watching Tennis. Please reach out to our Prime Video team here at your earliest convenience so we can gather some more details and investigate this further.
I love tennis. Currently watching the Nitto ATP finals. Oh so good in the afternoon when televised by BBC2. Then torturous in the evenings with Amazon Prime. I have been watching tennis for many years on BBC, EUROSPORT and SKY with no problems whatsoever on my present one year old LG smart tv and previous TV's. Why now is it so appalling when I am basically stuck with no other choice but Amazon Prime. The picture quality is poor. I have had the top third of the screen disconnected from the rest. Sometimes when watching replays of matches there is no commentary. It's miserable considering they have more or less a complete monopoly now.
