Hi all, I made a mistake while placing an order with Amazon on Christmas day. I cancelled within 10 hours of having placed the order when I realised my mistake on Boxing day. The status of my order when I cancelled was "Preparing for dispatch". I received an email within minutes to say that the order cannot be cancelled but I was welcome to refuse to take delivery or I could return it later.
The package was delivered on 29th December (I am still not sure why it couldn't be cancelled. They had the whole of 26th, 27th & 28th to cancel it & not send it to me). Luckily I was home when they delivered. As per the advice in their email, I refused to take delivery & the courier (Amazon Shipping) took it back.
Its 12th Jan now - 15 days since I rejected to take delivery & I haven't heard anything at all from Amazon. The status of my order says -
From Amazon Shipping at 29 December;
Item marked as rejected by you - returning to the seller.
A problem has occurred.
Your parcel was returned to Amazon.co.uk because it was refused at the delivery address
Was expected 31 December"
Is this how it usually is? When can I expect a refund? I cant find anyway to email them. If I go through Returns, there isnt any option to say that I refused to take delivery. It wants me to either print a label & then return the item or get Hermes to collect the item but obviously I dont have the item as it was refused on delivery.
I would suggest that you might get more help by talking to Customer Service (this is not it) rather than this customer to customer help forum for Amazon devices. We cannot access your account or give you a refund, but they can.
