I have just noticed that Amazon have removed everyone's email contact address, from their profile, I took mine off when the rule about freebies changed.
However it would be polite if Amazon told us about changes.
The first annoying change was when we could no longer see the latest comments which was very useful as people often asked questions that way and often got a more sensible answer than the ask a question option.
I don’t understand why anyone would want to have their email contact address on their profile for anyone to find.
That would definitely be of huge help to creeps who like to send nasty emails to cause hurt and or distress, let alone for scammers to have such easy access to.
I do agree with the rest of your post, and we should also have the option of an email when we have received a reply, the now defunct, deleted, extinct even though much loved old Customer discussions forums were far better.
A couple of years ago before the rules changed I took free offers hence the email address. This seems to have come and bit me as all my reviews have been deleted although I have never broken the guidelines.
The other reason for having an email address displayed is so people could contact you about your reviews, you used to be able to see the latest comments and respond should you wish but since this was removed emails were a poor substitute but the only way to contact a reviewer.
